Our Community Involvement

At Kinos, our passion for design goes far beyond the projects we deliver. For us, creativity only has meaning when it serves something greater than ourselves. We firmly believe that a design studio should also be an engaged community player—one that gives back. Our success is measured as much by the impact of our visuals as by the way we help make the world a little more human.

Supporting Arts and Culture

We are proud to support the arts and culture, particularly by working with emerging authors and filmmakers. For several years, we have offered poster and book cover design services free of charge, because we know how decisive a first project can be. Through these collaborations, we aim to give visibility to emerging talent and help new creative voices flourish—without barriers or compromise.

Educational Engagement

Knowledge sharing is a core value at Kinos. Welcoming interns, leading workshops, and sharing our experience in schools and universities is more than a professional initiative—it’s a way to pass on our passion for the craft, support the next generation, and help individuals believe in their potential. Seeing young talent grow, gain confidence, and thrive is one of the greatest rewards for our team.

Partnerships with Charitable Organizations

Our commitment also takes shape through concrete actions with community organizations. For over ten years, we have supported Le Mûrier—an organization assisting people living with severe mental health challenges—by providing graphic design services of significant annual value. We do so wholeheartedly, because we believe dignity and well-being deserve to be defended. We also contribute to fundraising events and causes close to our hearts, knowing that every project, no matter how small, can help change a life.

Sustainable Development Practices

At Kinos, environmental responsibility is an integral part of our creative practice. We apply eco-design principles aimed at reducing paper, ink, and digital resource consumption—without ever compromising visual impact or communication effectiveness. We favour responsible digital formats, intentional visual restraint, and optimized file sizes to reduce the environmental footprint of content distribution.

When printing is required, Kinos recommends more sustainable materials such as recycled or FSC- or PEFC-certified papers, and works with printers engaged in environmentally responsible practices. The use of vegetable-based inks and responsible printing processes is encouraged. Internally, the studio operates nearly 95% paper-free, limits printing, implements sorting and recycling, extends the lifespan of IT equipment, and favours refurbished and energy-efficient hardware.

From a human and social standpoint, Kinos places expertise and well-being at the heart of its approach. The studio is committed to providing a healthy, inclusive, and respectful work environment that values diversity, equal opportunity, continuous learning, and creativity. Work–life balance is encouraged, alongside a clear ethical stance: Kinos refuses any content that promotes hate, discrimination, or infringes on human dignity.

Finally, Kinos adopts an ethical and responsible approach to business relationships and sourcing. We prioritize local partners, suppliers, and talent—supporting the regional economy while reducing the carbon footprint associated with logistics. In line with a digital sobriety mindset, Kinos has also chosen not to use generative AI, known for its high energy consumption. Instead, we rely on human expertise, custom creation, and proven tools that ensure quality and long-term sustainability.

Remote Work

Kinos promotes and maintains remote work as its preferred mode of operation in order to reduce greenhouse gas emissions associated with daily commuting. By relying on efficient digital communication and collaboration tools, the studio minimizes in-person meetings and non-essential travel while ensuring effective exchanges, project continuity, and high-quality teamwork. This approach contributes to a more responsible, flexible, and environmentally respectful organization of work.

Recycling, Equipment, and Resources

Implementing a recycling program for all paper-based materials and used computer equipment. Choosing recycled paper and recyclable ink cartridges. Collaborating with specialized companies for the recycling of our computer equipment. Purchasing energy-efficient computer equipment and prioritizing the use of environmentally friendly software. Giving a second life to materials and equipment before considering the purchase of new products.
